St Stephens crypt
Although St Stephens Chapel was destroyed by fire in 1834, the crypt below St Stephens Hall, the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, which had fallen into disuse before the fire, was restored and returned to its original use as a place of worship. It is a perfect gem of florid Gothic architecture. It is still used for its original purpose today
Mary Evans Picture Library makes available wonderful images created for people to enjoy over the centuries
