EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we see nearly 400 enthusiastic pupils from Meltham CofE Junior and Infants School taking part in a fun run. Their youthful energy and determination are evident as they come together for a great cause. The event was not just about having fun, but also about making a difference in the lives of others. These incredible young individuals managed to raise an impressive £936 for charity through their efforts. Three deserving causes benefited from their hard work: the £1/2m Examiner Body Scanner Appeal, Sport Aid, and Action Aid for Third World countries. It is truly inspiring to witness such compassion and selflessness at such a young age. David Styring and Leah Simmonds can be seen in the photograph alongside other dedicated fundraisers proudly presenting a cheque worth £312 to the bodyscanner project. This generous contribution will undoubtedly make a significant impact on improving healthcare services within their community. This snapshot captures not only the spirit of unity among these children but also highlights the importance of education, fundraising, and supporting those less fortunate. It serves as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can create ripple effects that reach far beyond our immediate surroundings. Taken on September 7th, 1987 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire during simpler times, this image represents all our yesterdays filled with hope, resilience, and boundless potential.
